Dr. Naheem Mahtab CPA, Founder & CEO

Dr. Naheem Mahtab, CPA, is a seasoned strategist and corporate finance expert, transitioning from academia to the corporate world as the Founder & CEO of Synergy Group BD LLC, Skills Synergy, ProFacility Services, and Progoti Synergy Limited. Before this, he held the position of Senior Vice President & Chief of Staff at Sheba Platform Limited.


Dr. Mahtab earned his Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) in Real Estate Finance, along with a Master of Accounting from Curtin University, Australia, and a bachelor's degree in Finance and Marketing from North South University.


He has also worked at Bay Developments Limited as their Senior Assistant Vice President of Strategy, Finance, and Human Development, served as an Additional Director of Northern Education Group and World Marketing Summit Group Bangladesh—an initiative of Kotler Impact Inc, Canada—and was previously an Assistant Professor at the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at IUB.


Dr. Mahtab played a pivotal role in leading the IUB School of Business and Entrepreneurship to successfully achieve ACBSP accreditation, and he has contributed to ACBSP as the Chair of International Peer Review Evaluation Teams. He also serves as Chair of their Bylaws committee and articulation committee, as well as Secretary of Region 10. Notably, he is the only certified evaluator and mentor of ACBSP from Bangladesh, having evaluated 19 international universities and mentored 10 for ACBSP accreditation. He is a trained accreditation officer of ACBSP and has received training in IQAC accreditation and Outcome-Based Education.


With over 17 years of experience in strategic leadership, branding, management, organizational development, HR, training, and administrative roles, Dr. Mahtab excels in managing medium to large-scale corporate operations and marketing events. His expertise extends to business skills training, strategic planning, execution, and human resource activities. He possesses deep knowledge of managerial strategic principles, KPI and target development, performance management, and continuous improvement focused on quality. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities, showcasing analytical and critical thinking skills that enable him to tackle complex challenges.


Before joining IUB, Dr. Mahtab held various academic roles in both Australia and Bangladesh. Additionally, he served as the Academic Manager and Principal Executive Officer for Cambridge College International in Australia for over five years and is a certified trainer/assessor from Australia.


Dr. Naheem is also actively engaged with JCI. In his chapter, JCI Dhaka Dynamic, he served as the Training Commissioner for 2022 and has been elected as the Local Vice President for 2023. He has notable publications in local and international journals and has authored two books, actively participating in international seminars and delivering keynote speeches.


In 2020, Dr. Mahtab received the Teaching Excellence Award twice—once at the Higher Education Forum in India and once at IUB. He was also awarded the Best Presenter Award at the ACBSP Region 10 Conference in January 2020. In 2023, he achieved recognition as the Best Young Achiever at the International Leadership Award and Summit, as well as receiving the Global Recognition Award.
